Having just picked our way to the auditorium, over white squares, like stones across a stream, the room now begins to constrict around us until, finally, it literally fits into the palm of our hand: We are sitting in the theatre box into which we are looking.
Poetic and fleet-footed, deepblue joins with us to explore the mechanisms of theatre as a black box in the double sense. It is perhaps no coincidence that the black stage and auditorium shares its name with the crash-proof flight recorder that stores all important events.
A curious place, the theatre. On the one hand empty and yet replete with memories, full of future and, above all: possibilities. A constantly growing archive of past and possible future events in which we – audience and performers both – join together to search for, sort, file, change, improve, worsen and forget stories. “Action not possible”, “Creating duplicate” – the audience and performers are data carriers, data, parts of the system.
“you are here” is a friendly journey to the inner workings of theatre, strikingly clever and pleasurable at once. A humorous, precise homage to theatre and to us – part of it even if we think we are just visitors. This theatre swallows us completely, turns us into a collective, but, at the end, takes a bow for each of us on his own.
