The Argentinean director Federico Leon, whose play „Yo en el futuro“ is on in this herbst festivals programme, shot his second feature film in Buenos Aires shantytown. León’s film chronicles a group of inhabitants of „Villa Miseria 21“ as they discover that by playing themselves and using their homes as film sets they can find an outlet for artistic expression and make money. „Estrellas“ reflects on various forms of representation of poverty and show how creative action can become a method to survive.
