Fri 25/09, 10.30 pm
Ja, Panik (A)

In time for the release and exclusive at the herbst festival, Ja, Panik are presenting their third album “The Angst And The Money”, following up their acclaimed second work (number three on the Spex charts for the year) with a farewell to our age, on excesses, change and doubt.

Sat 26/09, 10.30 pm
Gangpol & Mit (F)

Wonderful cacophonies of sound and video – melodies whirr, disperse and rise again, styles and eras mingle to create Coconut Swing, Boogaloo Noise or Fantasy Folklore. A universe of colourful beasts and funny creatures also accompanies the French duo to steirischer herbst.

Fri 02/10, 10.30 pm
The Woog Riots (D/I)

Pop, humour and charm meet culture, politics and natural science. “pasp” is the title of the album: “people, animals, society, places”. In catchy songs ranging between anti-folk and danceable electro, the Woog Riots pick up social questions and give some unpredictable answers.

Sat 03/10, 10.30 pm
The Very Pleasure (A)

Fritz Ostermayer, Hans Schabus and Oliver Welter alias The Very Pleasure dispose of the edelweiss and transpose this icon of Austro-floristic kitsch from the Alps to the plateau of Kyrgyzstan. A concert as grotesque reparation. A performance as a pop culture road movie: ”Go East Old Man.“

Fri 09/10, 10.30 pm
It´s a musical (D)

Four hands, two voices, one moment leaving each other every freedom, only to embrace each other firmly the next. Constantly relating little stories, as rough as they are refined, as masterful as dilettante, as stormy as hesitant, as obvious as impish.

Sat 10/10, 10.30 pm
Masha Qrella (D)

Her current album is dedicated to the compositions of Kurt Weill and Frederick Loewe. Rearranged, detheatricalised and laconically melancholised, the old songs sound as though they’ve just sprung from Qrella’s enchanting pop universe.

Fri 16/10, 10.30 pm
GoldieLocks (GB) feat. DJ Biffy (D)

She produces her tracks herself and releases on Locked on Records: GoldieLocks, MC from Croydon. A mix of electro, Grime, Dub, some Garage, a touch of Hip Hop and a good deal of pop – somewhere between Peaches and Sugababes and very close to The Streets.

Sat 17/10, 10.30 pm
Mocky (CAN/D)

Mocky has a reputation of always surprising listeners. After electro, Hip Hop and soul publications and collaborations with numerous artists (including Jamie Lidell, Feist, Gonzales, Nikka Costa and Jane Birkin), his current work, “Saskamodie”, is a bold step into unknown territory: Seemingly classical soundtrack suites, laid-back, elegant jazz borrowings, and soul ballads as if from the sixties. Grand, contagious melodies in an impressively entertaining live show.
